The Chelmsford Police Athletic League Flag Football Program
has been in existence for over four years.
The Flag Football League is currently open to boys and girls
in grades 5 - 8. Currently, there are 96
players in the League this year with a waiting list full of
more interested players.
Over the
years, there have been over 500 students who have participated
in the program. Often these students have come back during the
season to help Officers coach, referee, and volunteer in many
other ways.

The main
mission of CPAL is to provide opportunities for boys and girls
to participate in activities that they may not normally do.
The Flag Football League has seen all kinds of players
who come out to not only play
football, but to also have fun and socialize in a safe and
well-supervised environment.
The
Officers who participate in the Flag Football League volunteer
their time in order to be strong roll models for the kids.
Their goals are to foster a trusting relationship
between themselves and the kids they interact with.
In seeing a number of these kids grow up, it has been
clear that opportunities like the Flag Football League have
accomplished these goals.
